William Saints Konold Carroll (Billy) peacefully joined his Lord and Savior in paradise on the morning of March 6th, 2020. Bill was born on November 25, 1949, Plainfield, New Jersey, to parents William Arthur and Mary Jane Carroll. He was one of two children.
Billy moved with his parents and older brother David to Columbus, Ohio in 1953. He had an idyllic childhood in Upper Arlington, Ohio.
While attending Jim Jones Junior High School in the 60's Billy, Jim Aldrich, Mike Berand, and Gary Steger
formed the band "The Electras", later changing the name of the band to "The Fifth Order". Over the years band members included Jeff Johnson, Mike "Muff" Comfort, and Jeff Fenholt.
Billy was a charismatic and talented lead singer and drummer. Later in the 70's Billy was with the J.D. Blackfoot band doing vocals and percussion. He always had an elaborate drum kit at home after leaving the music business and enjoyed playing the drums until his illness in 2011.
After the band days, Bill was in various sales and management positions. He became a funeral director in the early 2000's, which was his true calling. Bill was loved and respected by his co-workers at the funeral home and at the cemeteries where he conducted services. Bill had an exceptional gift for helping grieving families.
Bill was very interested and informed regarding current events and politics. He greatly enjoyed his time at the gun range and never shied away from controversy - but always in a considerate and thoughtful way.
Bill was incredibly quick-witted, intelligent, good natured, and humorous. It made him very happy to know his wife would let everyone know at his memorial that he made her laugh every day (he did!).
Bill was much loved and treasured by his family and many friends and is greatly missed by his wife and children.
Bill is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Paige, stepson Sean, stepdaughter Amy, brother David, and wife Darlene.
