Steven Brian Ryder

Steven Brian Ryder, 76, of Simi Valley, CA, passed away peacefully, in his home, on March 19, 2025.

Steve was born on August 31,1948 in Port Chester, New York to Joseph and Jane Ryder.

Steve was known for his love of life and his contagious smile. He was a proud veteran who served his country with honor and later dedicated his life to serving his community as a firefighter. Whether it was traveling, skiing, kayaking, shooting, spending time with family/friends, or volunteering to help others, Steve left an impact on everyone he met. Steve lived his life with courage, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved. His laughter and generosity will be missed but never forgotten.

He is survived by Joanne, his wife of almost 54 years, daughter Lisa (her husband Rick), son Marc (his wife Michelle), his granddaughters Makayla and Madison, and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Scott, his father Joe, mother Jane, and siblings Bill, Karen, and Ricky.

In celebration of Steve's life, a Rosary service will be held April 10, 2025 from 5:30-8 PM at Reardon Mortuary in Simi Valley. Memorial service will be held on April 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Moorpark, followed by an Internment at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley.

Though Steve is no longer with us, his spirit will forever guide and inspire us. Rest in peace, our hero, our rock, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
