Samantha will always be remembered as the caring and fun-loving daughter, mother, grandmother, friend, and life partner that she was to all of those who were lucky enough to know her in this lifetime. She was surrounded by love, laughter and some of her favorite foods when she transitioned at the age of 59 on Friday, February 18th, 2022 after a short but hard fought battle with cancer.
She was born to Joseph and Elaine Cosney on July 17 1962 in Canoga Park and graduated from Antelope Valley High School in 1980. Throughout her professional life she excelled as an accountant and controller and often played a pivotal leadership role wherever she worked. She also had an entrepreneurial spirit, launching her own businesses from Mary Kay to her own bookkeeping services that she ran for years.
She would often say that motherhood was her best accomplishment and contribution to this world; however, the unconditional love, the sacrifice, and the laughter that she brought to parenting also showed up in all of her relationships. Even in her last days she was cracking jokes, rolling her eyes, and making sure everyone and everything was taken care of.
She is survived by her parents Joseph and Elaine Cosney, her son Kevin, her daughter Celeste, her two granddaughters Kennedy & Simone, the love of her life Jose Torres, and many many close friends, cousins, aunts and uncles who will keep the memory of her smile, sass and spunk alive in our hearts for the years to come.
A celebration of life has been scheduled for 11 am on Saturday March 12, 2022 at the Global Truth Center in Westlake Village at 880 Hampshire Road Suites V & W. A small reception will be held for close friends and family after the service. Please reach out for additional details.
