Roy Lynn Murray passed away on July 24, 2024 at the age of 87, in Moorpark, California, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on December 3, 1936, in Wallace, Idaho, Roy's journey through life was marked by profound intelligence, a resilient can-do attitude, and a commendable self-made spirit.

Roy's upbringing saw him achieving a GED, a stepping stone that led him to serve in the Army beginning in 1952, where he embraced the rigor and discipline of military life. His career was as diverse as it was fulfilling. From selling Fuller brush to working for Pepsi-Cola, selling cars, and ultimately overseeing the Tri County area in Eastern Washington for the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, Roy approached every role with integrity and pride.

Roy's first wife, Pat, who is now deceased, played an instrumental role in his life. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Anita, Lisa, and Michael (Patty) who also preceded him in death. His family's growth and happiness were among his proudest accomplishments.

Later in life, Roy found his second love and soulmate, Patsy Murray. Together, they spent their retirement years traveling the world and exploring Arizona, deeply cherishing the landscapes that they both held dear. An active member of a Jeep club, Roy relished adventurous treks through the desert. He dedicated time to documenting his life's stories and experiences, ensuring his legacy would endure through generations.

Roy's life was further enriched by his loving family, including his daughters Anita (Greg), Lisa (Dennis), and Jodi (Jeff). His joy multiplied with over 10 grandchildren, over 10 great-grandchildren, and even a few great-great-grandchildren, along with many other cherished family members. Roy also reconnected with his long-lost brother, Dave (Connie), whose presence brought additional warmth and unity to his life. He also held a special place in his heart for Andy (deceased) and Kerri.

Roy cherished all his family members deeply and held family history as profoundly important. He took great pride in preserving and sharing the stories of his ancestors, ensuring that their legacies, as well as his own, would be remembered and honored by future generations.

A small celebration of life will be held for Roy at his daughter Jodi's home on August 30, 2024, where close family members will gather to honor his memory. Those wishing to honor Roy are encouraged to share their fondest memories of him on this site, as a tribute to a life well-lived.

The family has entrusted Reardon's Funeral Home in Simi Valley, California, with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in the form of shared memories and stories about Roy, celebrating a man who was always keen to teach others and learn from every experience himself.
