Richard Wills Sutherland

Richard (Rick) Wills Sutherland, 54, passed away at his home in Simi Valley, CA on October 22, 2024. He was born on May 21, 1970 in Massachusetts to Judith A. Sutherland (d. 2/5/2016) and John R. Sutherland. Rick grew up in Thousand Oaks and later settled in Simi Valley, CA. He was able to achieve his lifelong dream of opening his own business, Clear Vision Tattoo in Moorpark, CA which has for many years continued to be a strong positive influence in the community. He had a passion for helping others which showed not only in his business, but also in his everyday interactions with people. He was deeply proud of his family lineage and loved to collect historically significant antiques. The most endearing qualities of Rick were his incredible sense of humor and his gigantic heart. He was irreplaceable and we will miss him dearly.

Rick is survived by his wife, Andrea Sutherland, his son Cade Cothrum, his father John Sutherland, his siblings Elizabeth James, Roux Sutherland, Alina Sutherland, & Keely Sutherland, his nieces Lura & Madelyn James, and his beloved bearded dragon Thor. There will be a private family funeral, followed by a public memorial on Dec. 7th at Santa Susana Park in Simi Valley from 10:30am to 1pm.
