Richard Bibeau

Simi Valley

Richard Bibeau was born in 1939 to Leger and Rose Anna Bibeau, both from Quebec, Canada. He grew up speaking French in Sanford, Maine. Richard attended Saint Ignatius School, graduating in 1957. He was in the National Guard for 2 years before joining the Air Force. Richard worked in the Aerospace Industry for 38 years, starting as a machinist and eventually moving into management. While working for Lockheed he moved to Georgia, helping to oversee the manufacturing of F22's.

Richard was fortunate to marry Janette (nee Kellison) and to have two wonderful children, Mark & John. He retired from Lockheed in 2000 after losing his wife and sons to chronic illnesses. Richard moved back to California in 2004 to join his brother Ron. They traveled together visiting national parks, attending Sturgis Motorcycle Week and driving across Canada - Ron expose Richard to many new foods during their travels.

Richard had many interests including computers and anything to do with electronics. He loved to share his knowledge in stamp collecting, math, photography and baseball. He was always reading manuals, learning new skills or fixing something in the house. Richard loved animals, supporting the LA Zoo and California State Parks. Each year he donated to the Special Olympics.

He enjoyed attending Saint Ignatius class reunions in Sanford, Maine and eating clam chowder at Ted's. Richard especially looked forward to visiting The Brother's Shaker Hill Bakery in Alfred, Maine, which was conveniently across the road from Shaker Lake Ice Cream Shop - Richard loved ice cream.

Richard was dedicated to his family and to his community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, always willing to be of service to others. He survived Pancreatic Cancer, the loss of his family and continued to have a strong faith in God throughout his life.

He was kind, gracious, and caring. A good neighbor, a good friend, a remarkable man. Richard will never be forgotten by those that knew him.
