Randy Dale Tucker was born in Illinois to Frank Tucker and Joanne Mear on December 5th, 1956. Randy came to California at 13. When he was 17, he met Deborah, who he married in February of 1978. He was hard working, with mid-west perseverance, as evidenced by getting his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from California State University Northridge 13 years and two children after he began. Long before the degree his leadership was recognized first at Hughes & Philips connected with Jet Propulsion Laboratories, and later at Dataproducts where he promoted to senior management. Randy proudly innovated in the then emerging field of personal computing and in 1994 he founded CADTech, a computer consultancy which he would soon rename to TeamAutomation. He successfully led his company for the rest of his life.
Randy’s proudest stories began in 1984, and again in 1987 with the birth of his sons, Christopher and Jonathan. A drummer and a pianist, Randy and Debi insisted that Chris and Jon be well immersed in music. Today, both are accomplished musicians in their free time, and are emerging authorities in their professional fields. Randy was vocal of his pride in his sons’ achievements. Jon and his wife Gina bore Randy two grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle. Randy’s face beamed pure joy whenever they were near.
A model of character and light to the world for 62 years, a husband for 41, a father for 34, and a grandfather for 4, Randy was suddenly called from us on March 2nd, 2019. Family and friends are invited to celebrate mass in Randy’s honor at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Simi Valley on Friday, March 8th, 2019 at noon. Randy will be interred surrounded by family in San Diego.
