Moshe Litman

September 15, 1952 — July 3, 2017

Moshe Litman of Simi Valley, CA (aka Moshe, Moishe, Mishku, Mo, Uncle Mo, and Saba Foo Foo), died July 3, 2017. He was 64 years old.
Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, to Sara and Yurek Litmanowicz, Moshe grew up in Israel, served in the Israeli Air Force, and then immigrated to the United States to pursue the American dream. In his pursuits, he attended California State University, Northridge (CSUN) where he found the redhead of his dreams, who he proposed to within the first week of their courtship (she said no but eventually he won her over), his wife of 40 years, Sheila O’Boyle (Litman). Moshe completed a B.S. in Business Administration from CSUN and after working in public accounting in Beverly Hills, he and Sheila came to Simi Valley to start their family and their business, Moshe Litman, CPA, an Accountancy Corporation, which has grown and thrived for over 34 years.
Moshe loved his family and his work above all else, but also loved his piano, motorcycle, airplanes, and travel. He also had a very strong love of Israel and his family there. He was an incredibly talented musician whose ability to entertain and teach the love of music to his children and extended family was unending. And, he had the fortune of traveling all over the world with his family, and in particular, his wife Sheila. Their many adventures took them to every continent except Antarctica, where he made many additional life-long connections with people he met along the way. Moshe also had an unrivaled sense of humor which left an impression on everyone who knew him. There was never a dull moment with Moshe. He filled any room with laughter, humor, sage advice, and music.
Moshe is survived by his wife, Sheila, daughters, Marissa and Ari Litman, granddaughter Nora Cooper, son-in-law Ben Cooper, sisters-in-law Kathy Anderson and Julie O’Boyle, nephew Derek Anderson, niece Shannon Star and her husband, Logan Star, and their son, Jacob Star. In addition to his family, his legacy lives on in the lives of his many friends and clients who he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 9th at 10am, at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Simi Valley, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Moshe’s honor to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
