Matthew John Conroy

Matthew John Conroy was born October 10, 1973, in Burbank, California and passed away March 25, 2024. He lived in Reseda, then the family moved to Simi Valley, California when Matthew was a young boy.  He graduated from Royal High School and Moorpark College.  Matthew then made the greater Ventura area his long-term home.

Matthew spent over 23 years with his partner and husband, Daniel.

Those who knew Matthew always fondly recalled having the best belly laugh of their life from his endless sense of humor while also being struck by his conscious listening, his fierce protection of his sisters and family, and his genuine offers of support and guidance to those around him.

Matthew’s love of playing the piano and guitar were well known among his friends and jam sessions were a regular part of gatherings with family and friends.  Many were fortunate to receive a personally curated mix-tape or CD of favorite tracks Matthew enjoyed and thought would inspire others to his passion for music.

Matthew took the relationships in his life with friends and family most to heart.  One of his favorite things was just spending TIME together sharing music, a good meal, or talking around a table or fire pit with those who he loved and cherished.

He is survived by his husband Daniel; father Brian (Espy), mother Heather; sisters Amber (Felix), Joy (Mike), and Erin; nephew Cooper; and his beloved cat Milo.
