Mary Lourdes McGrath, 80, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving children on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
Lourdes was born on February 11, 1943 at home to Joseph and Mary (McDermott) Ryan.
Lourdes graduated from St Joseph High School in DeWitt, Iowa. She then went on to graduate from St Ann’s School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois.
Lourdes married Phillip McGrath and they had four children together.
Surviving family members are: Margaret Mary “Peggy” (Bruno) Burghard of Simi Valley, California; Philip Rafael McGrath of Calabasas, California. Grandson, Keith Rafael (Maira) McGrath of Rosemead, California, and Great Granddaughters, Valerie McGrath, Samantha Mcgrath, and Delilah Marroquin.
Also surviving are her siblings: Regina (Chris) Williams of Hiawatha, Iowa; Marty Ryan (Pat) of Waterloo, Iowa; Teresa Lynch of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Joe Ryan of Redondo Beach, California. Additionally, sister-in-law: Pat Ryan, Iowa City, Iowa.
Preceding Lourdes in death were her parents, brothers, Larry and Denny; and 2 infant sons, Timothy and Matthew.
