Mary Sharon Herron, born January 30, 1950 to Rev. J.D and Theresa Rucker in Paris, Texas. A beloved mother to son Dervon (Von) W. Herron and Darla R. Martin. Mary was a loving sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. On February 4, 2024 Mary peacefully passed away with loved ones by her side. Mary graduated from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, CA in 1968. After attending college, she established a career with IBM as a Government Contractor for over 20 years and after a successful tenure she retired. Mary lived a life filled with love, joy, leaving behind a legacy that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew her.
Mary will be remembered all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her for the boundless love she emanated towards her family. Her eyes would sparkle whenever she spoke about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. There was an undeniable warmth in her heart that made her family feel safe and cherished in her presence. Mary's devotion to her loved ones was unwavering, and she took immense pride in being a source of support for all of them.
Described as well dressed, friendly, happy, and loving, Mary had an energy that seemed inexhaustible. She approached life with an infectious zest that could light up any room she entered. Her laughter was contagious, and she had a knack for finding humor in even the simplest of moments. Mary's vibrant personality drew people towards her effortlessly, making friendships bloom wherever she went.
Known for her unwavering support and open-mindedness, Mary created a safe space for others to confide in without fear of judgment. She listened attentively to anyone who sought solace in her presence and provided comfort without hesitation. Mary is proceeded in death by her father and mother Rev. J.D. and Theresa Rucker, brothers Timothy, Lester and Juan Derek Rucker, and most recently sister Beverly Sharlene Rucker. Mary is survived by her son Dervon W. (Yolanda) Herron, daughter Darla R. (Michael Affinito) Martin, grandchildren Jefferey (Selena Gonzalez) Herron and Devonta L. Martin, Adam Michael Tyus, and D. Avion, James A. and Micaela A. Barrera-Herron, and great grandchildren Dakota and Biship Herron, brother Ronnie (Mary) Rucker, sisters Glenna Blunt and Yolanda Gaston and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Rest in peace, dearest Mary Sharon Herron. You will be deeply missed, but your love and light will continue to guide us through our journey of life.
