It is with great sorrow that the family of Marie Davey announce her passing peacefully in her sleep at the age of 86 on June 23, 2017.
Marie and her husband Joseph, of 58 years, were born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. They immigrated to the United States and proudly became U.S. citizens, and making their home in San Diego, Newport Beach and Palm Desert before settling in Simi Valley. She, with her late husband were avid tennis players and golfers, playing many golf courses in Ireland and the United States. Marie's hobby was self taught painting, which she enjoyed while living in Newport Beach and the Desert.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, she is survived by her sister Christine and Bob Patti of Simi Valley and several nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland and the United States. The family is grateful for the care she received from Florie's Home in Simi Valley and the Assisted Hospice of Thousand Oaks.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 29 at Saint Peter Claver Catholic Church in Simi Valley at Cochran and Stow Streets, with burial following at Assumption Catholic Cemetery on Fitzgerald Road in Simi Valley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Saint Peter Claver Catholic Church for a Memorial Brick in Marie's Name.
