Laura Macias Morgan age 87, went to be with the Lord when she passed away unexpectedly on Saturday November 6, 2021. She was strong in her faith and a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church in Simi Valley.
Laura was born on July 7, 1934 in San Diego, CA to Jesus and Marina Macias. She was one of 6 children with 3 brothers (Salvador, Richard, Armando )and 2 sisters (Lucy, Rachel). She spent her younger years in San Diego and later moved with her mother and 4 of her siblings to Los Angeles where she attended Manual Arts High School.
After graduating high school in 1952, she met James Morgan while working at Security National Bank. They would eventually marry in 1958, after James returned from his service in the Armed Forces, and began to start their family.
After raising her children to school age, she began working as a pre-school teacher. Her love of working with children would turn a part time position into a passionate 40-year career.
In retirement years, Laura enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with family, friends and especially her 2 grandsons Kyle and Connor. Most recently she enjoyed cuddling and spoiling our newest member of the family, our rescue dog Sunshine.
She will be missed by many to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband James and son Frankie (age 7). She is survived by her 3 daughters Vickie, Felicia (Robert), Marina, Kyle(grandson) and Connor(grandson).
