On the evening of Sunday, August 14, 2016, John (Ionut) Roman passed away peacefully in his
home in Simi Valley, CA, surrounded by family and friends. He was 86 years old. John was
born in the town of Aninoasa, Romania to parents Gheorghe and Irina Roman onMay 2, 1930. On May 1, 1970, John, his wife, and daughter emigrated from Romania to the United States, where they resided in Simi Valley, CA. John owned and operated Roman Auto Upholstery in Simi Valley for 44
years. He took tremendous pride in his business and was known for his high-end, custom work
and attention to detail. He was a fixture in the local Romanian community and was always surrounded by friends. John was an avid lover of animals; it was not unusual to find him outside enjoying his dogs, chickens, and goats. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband to his wife, Lucretia. John is preceded
in death by his parents Irina and Gheorghe, brothers Petrica, Vasile, and Gheorghe, and sister Ioana.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucretia, daughter Irina and son-in-law Nae Savulescu, daughter Diana and partner Jeff Perez, grandson Michael Savulescu and partner Samantha Graham, grandson James Savulescu and wife Jena Savulescu, grandson John Marcus Roman-Perez, and brother Teodor and his many nieces and nephews in Romania. The family would like to extend their thanks to friends Sabrina, Susan, and Viorel Petrescu for their love and support for both John and Lucretia. Viewing and rosary will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Reardon Funeral Home (2636 Sycamore Dr., Simi Valley, CA 93065). A funeral service will be held at 11:00am at Reardon Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2016, with interment immediately following at Simi Valley Pioneer Cemetery (1461 Thompson Ln., Simi Valley, CA 93065).
