JoAnn Dean Menard

JoAnn Dean Menard, 87 years old, of Simi Valley, California, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 4, 2025, of natural causes.

 JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Dan Conrad and her husband of 35 years, Richard A. Menard.

 JoAnn is survived by her brother, Dennis Conrad of Menifee, California, her son Tom Borton of Murrieta, California, daughters Connie De Fazio of Buellton, California and Kelley Yost of Murrieta and various nieces and great grandchildren.

 Born JoAnn Conrad in Girard, Kansas, she moved with her parents to Los Angeles, CA in the late 1940s.

 She had a successful Nursing career with the Veterans Administration Hospital system and spent her entire career at the VA Hospital Sepulveda, California where she met and married the love of her life, Richard Menard.

 Moving to Simi Valley in the early 1980s, JoAnn and Richard retired and briefly worked as School Crossing Guards for the city of Simi Valley.

 JoAnn loved to travel, and did so in Europe, Canada, Russia, Africa, and throughout the United States by RV.

 After Richard passed from natural causes, JoAnn entered the Volunteer Docent Program at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. There she discovered her love for all things political and Presidential, especially Ronald Reagan’s two-term presidency. She loved to share her extensive knowledge with guests of the Reagan Presidential Library as well as friends and family whenever she had the opportunity.

 When she wasn’t volunteering for the Presidential Library or the Simi Valley Republican Women’s group, JoAnn loved spending time with friends, family and especially her grandkids, great grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all.
