Born December 4, 1939, in Baltimore Maryland, Jenneane Stephanie Nelson entered the presence of the Lord on February 5, 2025, at the age of 85. Jean grew up and lived in Baltimore with her father Herbert and mother Stella Klein. Her father was also born in Baltimore, and her mother was born Stella Krasowska in Poland. She had one sister, Judith, who was two years her junior. After graduating high school, Jean left Baltimore and relocated to Los Angeles, California.
At the age of 21, she married Raymond Lee Nelson on June 16, 1961. They met and were married in the First Methodist Church of Van Nuys. Together they had three children: Colleen Catherine (born 1962), Heather Marie (born 1964) and Jeffrey Lee (born 1967). They were married 58 years until the passing of her beloved husband in 2019 at the age of 88.
In addition to being a loving mother and wife, Jean originally worked as a secretary at Bendix. After focusing on raising her children at home, she later returned to employment as an administrator in the Los Angeles Unified Schoold District. She worked there for over 20 years, where she focused on assisting special-needs children with their education.
Jean is survived by her son Jeffrey and daughter in-law Cecily, as well as six grandchildren – Brendan, Chandler, Ian, Kalene, Kristine, and Stephanie. She is also survived by her nephew Joey Cirri, and her great grandchildren. She is proceeded by her husband, two daughters and sister.
Jean was a beloved and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend that will be missed by all that knew and loved her. May the Lord bring us all, one day, to a joyous reunion in His presence.
