Henry Ahn, 86, of Porter Ranch, California, passed away on Saturday, June 3, surrounded by his wife, son, and daughter.
Henry was born in 1937 in Seoul, Korea. After high school, he went on to study political science at Seoul National University. After graduating with a degree in political science, he started his first job as a journalist at the esteemed newspaper company, The Korean Republic. It was the only English newspaper company in Seoul, Korea.
Soon afterwards, he met his wife, Young, in 1963. They decided to start a new life in America where they later married in 1965. Henry continued his studies at USC for his Master’s in History which he later completed at Fresno State.
In America, Henry taught English, managed a couple businesses, and eventually settled into a career for the United States State Department.
Henry and Young had two children, Robin and Peggy.
Eventually, Henry retired and spent his time playing tennis several times a week and caring for the beautiful garden and home he had created with Young.
Henry is survived by wife, Young Ahn, and their children Robin and Peggy. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services will be held at Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 1:00pm.
