How do we measure a life well-lived? Years, days, or hours? When Hazel Miclat Nahaku earned her wings and joined Our Father in Heaven at 44 she already lived a meaningful life. Born and raised in the Philippines on February 14th, 1977. She grew up to be a beautiful, independent, and, adventurous teen. She was always trying to explore. She entertained her curiosity, pushing until she had it figured out. Although, some would assume her to be an introvert, best believe, something was always brewing in her mind.
She was the kind of person that would never give up. And that became her MO and grew even stronger when she had her kids, Arzel Angelo and Angelica Danielle. A true Christian mother that spoke less and acted more. No trials or tribulations could ever break her down. And when she found her one true love, Kali Nahaku, they built an even stronger family unit. Together, they fought every battle that life threw at them. Despite her battle with cancer... and although she has gone, she left a legacy which has touched every person she came across... And that is the true measure of a life well-lived....
Her testimony lives on... Her memories in the hearts of all the people that were blessed by her mere presence. On this day, February 25, 2021 we bid goodbye to her body but never her spirit. We can say farewell to her voice but never her message. We must bury her hands but not her good works. And we can no longer hear her heart but her love will be around us forevermore. Our love for her goes on.... To our beautiful Hazel, no goodbyes... but Aloha 'oe! We have been blessed to have someone so hard to say goodbye to....
