Gerald was born in Los Angeles on October 7, 1938 and grew up in Canoga Park, attending Winnetka Elementary School, graduating from Canoga Park High School, and receiving an AA degree at Pierce College in Drafting. During his 20's he bought land in Simi Valley and built his home over a 7 year period. In his youth he was able to travel to Europe and also Israel several times. "Jerry" as friends and family knew him, fashioned many detailed and beautiful decorative items of various kinds of wood, was an avid gardener, also raising chickens, had a number of pet dogs and cats and enjoyed hiking and camping in the "back country". He married Annette in 1990 and, as an added bonus, acquired 5 grown sons. Grandchildren arrived and gave him endless joy and during his last two years he now had 2 Great-Grandchildren. Gerald is survived by sons, Jim, Mark, John, David and Dan and Grandchildren McKinlee, Vanessa, Nathan, Jarret, and Melissa and "Great- Grands" Harrison and Ellie as well as numerous Nephews and Nieces. Gerald became an Uncle at age 3 and had the joy of being surrounded by his parents Grandchildren... his nieces and nephews. His final years were a struggle against Parkinson's, but he died peacefully with his wife at his side.
