Eric Christopher Tweedy born on November 20, 1973, in Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on March 12 in Simi Valley, California. He is survived by his wife, Jenna Matinata, his three children Brody, Aiden, and Reagan, and his parents Barbara and Michael Tweedy. Eric had a brother who passed away in October of 2004. Eric was a graduate of Santa Barbara City College and earned an associate degree in Automotive Technology. He worked for the City of LA as a heavy duty equipment mechanic. Eric had an immeasurable love for his children; they were his alpha and omega in his life. He beamed at every accomplishment his children achieved: earning straight A’s, making the winning touchdown, making a goal, drawing a picture, dancing—he loved all their successes. He especially loved working with his boys in football, and his daughter was his little princess. Eric’s friends said he was a good and loyal friend. Eric was well loved by his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. May God grant him eternal rest. A Mass of Christian burial will be said for Eric on Saturday, March 25, at St. Rose of Lima church in Simi Valley, at 10 am. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to Children’s Hospital LA in Eric’s name.
