Engelina (Engie) Buffalo passed away peacefully on Monday, July 26, 2021
at the age of 91.
Mom found much happiness in her generous volunteer work. She volunteered at the Simi Valley Adult Center, the Simi Valley Cultural Center (she loved the Rocky Horror Picture Show), the Strathearn Historical Park and the Simi Library where she translated books into Braille and prepared care packages for our troops overseas. Her volunteer kept her very busy and connected her with many wonderful friends. She was recognized and honored to be a Ventura County Volunteer of the Year.
Mom will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She taught us all by example how to be strong, forgiving and compassionate. Mom was a believer in passing forward’ a good deed. It always brightened her day when she was able to do this and see others participate as well.
Engie leaves behind her son, daughter, daughters-in-law, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Nicholas and son Robert.
We would like to thank Lidia Medina for taking such great care of mom during the last years of her life. Also, thank you to Hospice for being so helpful and caring.
Mom requested that there be no services. In lieu of flowers, she would appreciate a donation to your favorite canine rescue. (Oh, how she loved her dogs!)
