Longtime Simi Valley Resident, Earl Leroy Todd, passed away on Friday, December 9th at the age of 87.
Earl was born on July 26, 1935 in Sheridan, Wyoming, to parents Nellie Williams and Clyde Todd. The youngest of five children, he moved to Southern California with his family and grew up in North Hollywood, CA, attending North Hollywood High School. He served in the United States Air Force and later received his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Redlands.
In 1966, Earl and his Wife Mae Rose moved their young family to Simi Valley, where he remained until his passing. For a majority of his career, Earl was employed by Rocketdyne/Rockwell International, which later became a subsidiary of Boeing. He also served as a professor of Information Systems at Moorpark College, starting in 1967, on the day the College first opened, and continued teaching there and at Pierce Community College in Los Angeles. When Earl retired from Boeing, he immediately began working with Christian Services with Saint Rose of Lima Church helping local families in need.
Earl is survived by his Wife Angie Hollingsworth, Son Michael Todd and Daughter-in-law CharleneTodd, Daughter Maureen Hillhouse, and Son-in-law Ed Hillhouse, Son, Richard Todd and Daughter-in-law Jennyfer Todd, Son Tim Todd and Daughter-In-Law Angela Todd, Step-Son Michael Hollingsworth, and Step-Daughter Karen Hollingsworth, as well as twelve Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Wife Mae Rose Todd, Son Scott Gerald Todd, Siblings Joseph Todd, Dorothy Memmott, Elmer Todd and Junior Clyde Todd, and Mother and Father-In-Law Howard and Mae Clark.
As a long-time member, and former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Simi Valley, and congregant at Saint Rose of Lima Church, Earl dedicated his life to the service of others and helping to build a better community
Services for Mr. Todd will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 9:30am at Saint Rose of Lima Church in Simi Valley.
