Duane Leonhart

Duane Martin Leonhart, 64, of Simi Valley, CA, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Monday, September 11, 2017. He was born July 29, 1953, in Des Moines, IA, to his parents Woodrow and Jean Leonhart of Pella, IA.
After moving from Iowa, Duane lived most of his life in Simi Valley. After graduating from Royal High School, he served in the Air Force for six years. After his honorable discharge in 1979, he returned to Simi Valley and worked at various positions in the telecommunications industry and as a computer draftsman. He thoroughly enjoyed all types of music, reading, traveling, hiking, spelunking, and riding the roller coasters (and only roller coasters!) at Magic Mountain with his sisters.
Duane is survived by his mother, Jean Leonhart; brothers, Charles and James; sisters, Alicia Clements and Marla Schilly; and many loving, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home with a reception immediately following.
