The world has lost the strong, kindhearted and beautiful Dawn Marie McGuire, age 62 of Simi Valley. She had a seizure leading to irreversible life altering injuries. She was surrounded by family and friends as she joined God in Heaven April 22, 2023.
Dawn was a beloved mama, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. Her strength, kindness, compassion, resiliency, and smile will be greatly missed!
Dawn loved going to concerts and plays, gardens and museums, long drives to the beach, singing and dancing, laughing and loving others, and watching movies with her friends but her passion was to spend time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Dawn was a part of a loving spiritual fellowship, that surrounded her with compassion and love.
Throughout the years, Dawn personally supported education and research in the women’s health community. She did public speaking throughout Ventura in numerous schools and colleges.
Dawn will live on through her daughter, Amber (Jarrod) Frawley and her five granddaughters: Cassidy Elaine, Madison Rae, Sophia Rose, and twins Piper Quinn and Willow Grace (who arrived shortly after her passing). She will be deeply missed by her sister, Teresa (Mike) Farrow and brother, John (Emily Brekke) Honetschlager. Also, her nephew: Dillon Farrow, and two nieces: Lexi Honetschlager and Ashley Farrow.
Dawn was reunited in Heaven with her parents: Donald and Ardis Honetschlager, her ex-husband: Bruce McGuire, her mother and father-in-law: Cheryl and Jimmie McGuire, and her kitties: Serina and Binx.
While we will miss her greatly, we will keep her colorful spirit and memory alive through endless stories and adventures! And know that each butterfly is a sign that she’s with us every day.
Dawn's celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Compass Church at 82 A. West Cochran Street in Simi Valley. If you knew Dawn, you know she’d want to have a party surrounded by family and friends with everyone laughing and sharing memories of her!
In lieu of flower arrangements, consider a living plant to contribute to a butterfly garden for Dawn's granddaughters.
Dawn’s final resting place will be at Assumption Cemetery near her mother and father in the beautiful mausoleum.
