Carolynne Annette Hornecker ~ 1/13/47 - 8/31/22
Carolynne, age 75, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday August 31, 2022. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Jana Kubanski and Erin Dolan, and her 2 granddaughters, Meadow and Melia Kubanski.
Carolynne was born in Pasadena, CA, and is preceded in death by her father, Hershall, her mother, Annette, and her older brothers, Richard and Hershall (Jigger). She was a High School Cheerleader and graduated from Baldwin Park High School. She went on to attended college at Mt. San Antonio College. She married her high school sweetheart at the age of 21, and later relocated to Simi Valley, CA to raise her family.
She enjoyed being a homemaker while her children were young and later returned to the workforce with a successful career as a contract negotiator and program expeditor in the aerospace industry. She was a member of the team responsible for building many of our nation’s fighter planes and military aircraft. She was extremely proud of her work and also of her security clearance with the Federal Government.
She was a daughter, sister, aunt, and a truly exceptional mother. Her children could not have asked for more. She supported and loved them unconditionally.
She was blessed her with 2 beautiful granddaughters. This was her greatest role and the title she was the most proud of, “Grammy”.
Carolynne was a strong person. It was important to her that her daughters and granddaughters grew up strong. She was very giving and kind. She was a happy person.
She was hysterically funny and loved to laugh. Sarcasm was her second language.
She never came to anyone's house empty handed. She never let you leave her house empty handed. She was always thinking of others.
She was the kind of person that really listened to you. Not out of obligation or duty, but because she really cared. Carolynne gave the best advise.
She was active in her communities. Whether it was as a member of the Simi Valley Jaycees, Parent Teacher Association, volunteer opportunities, girl scouts, working in her daughters and granddaughter’s classrooms, or hitting the campaign trail to promote her favored political candidate, she took pride and found joy in being a part of something bigger.
She expressed gratitude to her family, friends, and to her assisted living center community. She hoped that they will continue to carry her light into their lives and take influence from her advice and perspectives on the world.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Memorial services for Carolynne will be held graveside at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley on Saturday September 10th, 2022 at 10:00 am.
