Arturo Mular Gomez was born in a family farm in Camalig, Albay in the Legaspi - Bicol Region of the Philippines, which was the first place in the Philippine Island invaded by the Japanese in World War II. When Arturo was a toddler, his Mother, Gaudencia Mular Gomez, died giving birth to his sibling, who did not survive. It was Arturo and his father, Juan Gomez, and Grandmother, Teodora Musa Gomez that solely worked the small farm.
Arturo walked for many many days on a long journey from Camalig to Manila in search of some basic education, and any work he could find to support himself as well as send whatever he can back to his father and Grandmother.
In early 1960 in Manila, Arturo and Carmen met and fell in love and were married in December 1962. In March 1964, Glenn Martin was born and followed by Armel John in June 1973. In 1975, the Gomez Family immigrated into the United States and settled in Los Angeles. The family settled in Carson and then moved to Thousand Oaks in 1980. He worked on the aerospace industry for many years.
Arturo was excited to gain a daughter-in-law at Armel’s wedding to Kathryn on July 2012. More importantly, he was blessed to have a grandson, Gage Alexander, to be part of his family legacy.
Arturo is a quiet, shy, and simple man, who adored and treasured his wife, Carmen Magpile and sons, Glenn and Armel, dearly.
