Arlene Gonzalez
Friday, November 8, 1946 – Tuesday, February 25, 2020
Arlene was born to Evangeline Macias on November 8, 1946 in Los Angeles, California.
She grew up in the heart of East Los Angeles and attended Roosevelt High School. In
1965, she met the love of her life, Ignacio Gonzalez, and on August 8, 1969, they were
married. In 1975, they moved to Simi Valley and have lived there ever since. Together
they have three daughters: Jennifer, Jeanette, and Julianne.
Arlene was a devoted wife and mother, who dedicated her life to raising her children.
Her laugh was contagious, her love was infectious, and her faith in God was
unwavering. She was kind, empathetic, funny, caring, loving, and most of all brave.
She battled many illnesses throughout her life, and was often in pain. Despite this,
even on her toughest days, she never lost faith in God and always lived by the motto
that someone else was suffering more than she was.
On February 25, 2020, Arlene succumbed to her illnesses and passed away. She was
surrounded by her family when she took her last breath and the Lord took her by the
hand to Heaven.
She was predeceased by her mother Evangeline Macias, and brother Alfred Macias.
She is survived by her husband Ignacio Gonzalez; her three daughters Jennifer
(Michael) Guidicessi, Jeanette (Steven) Deeth, and Julianne (Erik) Germain; her five
grandchildren Mason (17), Jordyn (17), Aiden (13), Spencer (12) and Sophie (4); her
two siblings Norma (Gustavo) Ruiz, and Richard (Christina) Macias; and countless
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
